ASSA ABLOY and AddSecure look inside to increase customer value and lower environmental impact
Through a strategic partnership and clever design ASSA ABLOY and AddSecure aim for a safer and smarter world, all while reducing their environmental impact.
ASSA ABLOY and AddSecure, two global market leaders in security systems and alarms, entered a strategic partnership in 2019. Together they developed “ARX with AddSecure Inside”, offering customers a security system with smart access-control and integrated alarm transmission. By designing the solution with the ambition to “create more value out of less product”, the partners slimmed down the use of material, thereby lowering the environmental impact on both sides.
Effective and safe, “ARX with AddSecure Inside” benefits from the access-control and security system from ASSA ABLOY, and the certified alarm transmission from AddSecure. The solution champions innovative technology from both companies, complementing AddSecure’s product portfolio within Smart Alarms.
Built on secure connectivity with smart software functionality, “ARX with AddSecure Inside” enables remote access for monitoring and management, reducing the need for site visits and cutting transport related emissions. When designing the solution, the partners choose to further improve the environmental footprint by optimizing the use of material. Instead of applying separate devices, the partners managed to integrate the alarm transmitter and router functionality into one device. AddSecure’s alarm transmission functionality was also integrated into the ASSA ABLOY panel, virtualizing the otherwise physical product. This way, the partners achieved efficiency gains across the value chain from production, distribution to end-of-life.
“ARX with AddSecure Inside” was developed from a customer perspective and aims to make things simpler for both end-customers and installers. The solution is applicable to any type of customer looking for a simplified yet secure solution for intrusion and fire detection systems.
