About Missing People
Missing People is a Swedish nonprofit organisation that has been active since 2012 when they were founded in Gothenburg. Today, Missing People is a nationwide organisation with around twenty regional branches around the country. The core of the organisation is all the volunteers who give their time to help in the search for missing people.
Every year, nearly 27,000 people are reported to the police as missing in Sweden. Missing People’s mission is to support the police, families and local communities by coordinating search efforts and distributing information to help locate missing individuals quickly and safely.
A communication lifeline in challenging environments
Search operations often take place in difficult terrain where traditional two-way radio networks may not provide reliable coverage. For search leaders, the ability to communicate instantly and securely with large groups of volunteers is critical when every minute counts.
By using the GroupTalk push-to-talk (PTT) solution, volunteers can communicate in dedicated groups directly from their own smartphones, regardless of where the search takes place. With just one click, users can speak to an unlimited number of team members through secure, private PTT groups, ensuring efficient coordination and clear, uninterrupted voice communication over 4G and 5G networks.
GroupTalk provides us with the best possible conditions through its scalability, flexibility and security at both local and national levels. The system’s ease of use is also vital for all our volunteers. We are extremely grateful for the long-term partnership and support we receive from GroupTalk. It makes a significant contribution to our vision – ‘No one should go missing without being found.‘

Supporting an organisation that strengthens society
GroupTalk, Part of AddSecure, has supported Missing People since 2015, both financially and by providing the GroupTalk service during search operations. This longterm partnership reflects the commitment to social sustainability, community resilience and public safety. By enabling faster informationsharing, improved situational awareness and more efficient coordination, GroupTalk helps search teams act swiftly and safely, directly contributing to better outcomes during critical incidents.
Technology that empowers volunteers and protects lives
Allowing volunteers to use their own smartphones as walkie-talkies not only lowers equipment needs but also increases accessibility for the thousands of people who choose to contribute their time. This supports a more inclusive, communitydriven model of public safety, one where digital tools strengthen civil society’s ability to respond to urgent situations.
We are proud to stand behind Missing People’s vision: no one should disappear without being found. Their dedication embodies the values of compassion, community and responsibility. By providing reliable, secure critical communications, we help ensure that volunteers can carry out their lifesaving work with confidence, strengthening safety and wellbeing across society.
