How Solid Systems transformed retail security with AddSecure's IRIS solutions

Solid Systems modernised retail alarm transmission with AddSecure’s IRIS - replacing costly analogue lines with reliable, future-proof IP solutions.

The beginning of Solid Systems’ digital security evolution

In 2009, Solid Systems started testing the first IRIS Touch 220 on an Aritech CD panel, exploring its potential for alarm transmission and remote connectivity.

At that time, many of their retail customers were still relying on analogue and ISDN connections. These connections – especially ISDN with DigiAlarm – were increasingly expensive, particularly for retailers with multiple sites. When IP converters and modules became available, the opportunity to transmit alarms over IP was a game-changer.

The first IP solutions on the market were often costly and complicated to implement. AddSecure, however, offered a simple, affordable plug-and-play solution that our technicians could install immediately.

Delivering cost savings, reliability, and flexibility through the IRIS platform

AddSecure’s affordable solution allowed Solid Systems to clearly demonstrate to customers how much they could save by switching to IP alarm transmission and cancelling their expensive ISDN or analogue lines.

At the same time, as many private and business users moved from ISDN/analogue to internet + telephony, analogue diallers started experiencing compatibility issues. Once again, the IRIS Touch proved to be the perfect solution.

With the wide range of IRIS models available, Solid Systems could handle every scenario – from analogue conversion to direct bus line connections – and even enable remote access, saving customers significant call-out costs. This combination allowed them to offer clients cost savings, reliability, and modernised alarm transmission.

Equally important for them in service was the strong technical support. Initially they worked via Solid Sytems’ distributor, but soon they had direct access to the AddSecure team. Through close cooperation and feedback, modules were continuously developed and improved. With AddSecure there was no endless waits for updates, but often solutions delivered within 24 hours.

Combined with the powerful ISA receiver and its Security-Key concept, installers gained full visibility and control over connections – without needing to involve the central monitoring station. This flexibility and reliability made the IRIS platform an essential part of their solutions.

Retail

Solid Systems now have 7,000–8,000 IRIS modules installed across Europe with a broad range of retailers, from market leaders to smaller outlets.

We are proud to have contributed to the IRIS platform development and are confident that it is far from finished – it keeps evolving to meet tomorrow’s needs. The IRIS solution remains a cornerstone in delivering secure, future-proof alarm transmission to our customers across Europe.
