At AddSecure we consider mergers and acquisitions to be a key part of our growth strategy. Our origin is in the largest Nordic telecoms and security companies, but it is through innovation and visionary mergers with leading companies across Europe, that we have become the company we are today.
The beginning
AddSecure has developed and marketed secure critical communications solutions since the early 1970s. With our origins in the largest Nordic telecoms and security companies, we have unique knowledge and competence within secure critical communications and data. AddSecure as it is known today is the result of the merger between Multicom and Safetel in 2014 and the subsequent rebranding of the merged businesses to “AddSecure” in 2015.
2016
The acquisition of the Swedish company Smart Grid Networks marks the start of AddSecure’s acquisition spree. Smart Grid Networks, providing solutions for network automation and digitization for more efficient utilization of produced electricity, is rebranded AddSecure in 2018.

2017
AddSecure acquires the British technology and security company Chiron Security Communications. A global provider of IP-based alarm communication, and thus AddSecure takes a major step forward towards its goal of becoming Europe's leading player in secure critical communications. Chiron Security Communications is rebranded AddSecure in 2018.

The same year AddSecure is strengthening its Nordic presence further by acquiring Contal Security, a leading Swedish supplier of solutions for digital in and outward alarm transmission, integrated security systems. In 2019, Contal Security is rebranded, and its services offered under the name AddSecure Smart Rescue.

Next up is the alarm communications business of Finnish Prevent 360. With the carve out of Prevent 360 a new entity, AddSecure Oy, was established.

2018
In May 2018 AddSecure announces the strategic acquisition of leading European Fleet Management specialist Vehco to support continued expansion and IoT growth plans. The acquisition strengthens AddSecure’s position as a leading international provider of secure critical communications. Vehco is rebranded to AddSecure in May 2020.

Just three months after the signed deal, AddSecure as the new owner supports Vehco in the company’s long-term growth strategy through the acquisition of Groeneveld ICT Solutions, the leading Dutch Fleet Management provider. This move strengthens the company’s overall competitiveness and services in Europe.

2019
AddSecure-owned Vehco acquires Finland’s leading Fleet Management company, Paetronics Oy, in January 2019, to strengthen its Nordic footprint. At the same time, AddSecure further strengthens its position in Finland, after having established AddSecure Oy earlier in2018.

In June, AddSecure announces the acquisition of Offentlig Säkerhet, a leading Swedish provider of tailored security and safety solutions to the public sector. Through the acquisition, AddSecure secures growth and broadens its Smart Rescue offering targeted towards organizations, municipalities, and industries. Offentlig Säkerhet is rebranded AddSecure in December 2019.

In September AddSecure acquires Swedish Teleservice Radiokom to further strengthen its offering within the Smart Rescue business area. Teleservice Radiokom's excellence in radio communication and indoor coverage is a particularly important complement.

The same month, frameLOGIC, Poland’s leading Fleet and Transport Management company, is acquired through AddSecure-owned FMS provider Vehco. Through this acquisition AddSecure strengthens its European footprint, and further realizes its strategy of becoming the leading provider of Fleet Management and Transport Management Systems in Europe. FrameLOGIC is rebranded AddSecure in March 2021.

The year ends with the acquisition of the market leader in telecare services in Finland, Stella Safety Phone business, from Stella Kotipalvelut Oy. Through the acquisition, AddSecure enters the growing telecare market, and sets up new business area; AddSecure Smart Care.

2020
With the strategic acquisition of Connexas Group in the UK in May 2020, AddSecure establishes a presence for transport and logistics, in the strategically important UK market. Further realizing its strategy of becoming a leading provider of Fleet and Transport Management solutions across Europe. Connexas is rebranded AddSecure in March 2021.

In July, AddSecure continues its geographic expansion with the acquisition of Navkonzept GmbH, a well-known German aftermarket telematics supplier of Fleet Management solutions. Through the acquisition, AddSecure Smart Transport reinforces its position in the Transport and Logistics market in Germany. Navkonzept is rebranded AddSecure in April 2021.

July also sees the acquisition of Swedish iZafe AB from iZafe Group. Through the deal, AddSecure strengthens its Smart Rescue offering further and becomes a leader in Sweden in personal safety and solutions for lone workers.

In September AddSecure signs an agreement to acquire Telia’s Alerta business from Telia Finland. The Alerta offering comprises solutions that enable secure alarm transmission and remote management of multiple systems targeted at the public sector and private companies. The transaction has a strategic value as it establishes AddSecure as the leading provider in the alarm transmission market in Finland.

The same month AddSecure also confirms the acquisition of Swedish Dualtech IT, a leading supplier of secure IP based alarm communication terminals and innovative services, to strengthen its Smart Alarms’ portfolio, expertise, and market coverage in Europe. Dualtech is rebranded AddSecure in October 2021.

In November AddSecure acquires UK-based RTL Telematics through its Smart Transport UK company, Connexas. RTL’s strong technical offering of solutions for hazardous goods and advanced vehicle cameras, is of particular importance to AddSecure and will be rolled out across the wider Smart Transport customer base. RTL Telematics is rebranded AddSecure in June 2021.

The year ends with AddSecure entering the video surveillance market with the acquisition of International Security Group GmbH, a leading German innovator in technology-driven video Surveillance-as-a-Service. ISG offers a comprehensive portfolio of mobile video surveillance solutions marketed as Video Guard to customers within industries such as construction, logistics, and infrastructure. With this acquisition AddSecure sets up a new business unit, Smart Surveillance.

2021
In November AddSecure announces the acquisition of LOSTnFOUND, a Swiss-based provider of location tracking and fleet management solutions. Through the acquisition AddSecure expands its footprint into Switzerland and Austria, and further strengthens its market leading position within transport and logistics in the DACH region. Customers across Europe will benefit from a broader offering of telematics, location tracking, and fleet management solutions, whilst AddSecure strengthens its position as a leading European IoT provider.

2022
In June 2022, AddSecure announces the acquisition of Lund’s ProgramArkitekter AB (LPA), a Swedish company that develops and sells IT systems. With LPA's advanced software services specially adapted to the needs of rescue services, both when it comes to operational and administrative work, AddSecure complements its offering within the Smart Rescue business unit and broadens its portfolio to the Swedish rescue services and municipalities.
